Disability & IT Organisations

U Can Do I.T. provides I.T. training for blind, deaf and physically disabled people in their own homes on their own computers. The charity currently has 65 tutors covering all of the London boroughs, South Wales, Edinburgh, Merseyside & Blackpool, Kent and Sussex.

IT Can Help is a network of volunteers who are able to offer free local computer assistance to disabled people. Their Client Helpline is managed by AbilityNet. ITCH volunteers can: provide impartial advice on computer hardware and software; install new equipment and software; help with connecting to the Internet and e-mail; provide an introduction to standard packages such as word processing software; solve technical problems; give advice and assistance with hardware and software upgrades.

Workability is Leonard Cheshire's scheme which aims to support the needs of disabled people who are seeking employment - including by the provision of free computers to support accredited learning for people taking part in the Workability job search programme. The Workability project is currently being redesigned and therefore at the moment is unable to accept any applications.
